Shotgun Defender

Proficiency and Accuracy in High-Stress Scenarios

Without question, the shotgun has gained the respect of many, and rightly so.  It is a formidable home defender.  Students will learn about the advantages/disadvantages of various shot sizes, buckshot, and slugs.  During live fire, students will perform drills from ready positions, loading/unloading, malfunctions and stoppages, and manipulation and target engagement at various distances.

Ammunition REQ: 20 slugs, 20 buckshot, 50 birdshot
Firearm: Shotgun
Age Restrictions: 21+ years of age

PREREQUISITES

  • Participants need to have knowledge of how to operate a shotgun.

PLEASE NOTE

  • If you do not have a shotgun, you can use one of ours. There will be a $20 cleaning fee + cost of ammunition.
  • Please wear weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, and/or baseball style hat.
  • Because this class is a few hours long, we recommend that you bring some food/drink.
  • Hearing and eye protection are required (we will have some extras, if needed).
  • A certificate will be issued upon successful completion.
